This is our 100% Organic Brown Cotton Duck Futon Cover. The cotton is grown in America, and the cover is made in America. Only natural organic dyes are used. It is a nice heavy thick fabric, and feels softer than a canvas fabric. It is not pre shrunk, and softens up nicely when washed in cold water. colors to photograph. From computer to computer colors can look different, so order a swatch if you want to be sure of the color. They come in all futon sizes, and we can make almost any custom size you need for anything. We also sell the fabric by the yard, which is 90" wide with this fabric. We also offer several sizes of pillows, and can make many other sizes. These Futon Covers are made with 100% Organic Cotton grown in the USA. The cotton used in these covers is certified by the Texas Department of Agricultures Organic Certification Program, which certifies crops produced under an organic farming system. That is, a system of ecological soil management that relies on building humus levels through crop rotations, recycling organic wastes, and applying balanced mineral amendments. When necessary, this system uses mechanical, botanical, or biological controls that have minimum adverse effects on health and the environment. In addition, organic crops are produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and synthetic herbicides.
Upon demonstrating compliance with National Organic Standards 7 CFR Part 205, participants are entitled to use a marketing logo identifying their products as certified organic. TDA inspects and certifies producers, processors, handlers (warehouses, distributors, brokers) and retailers of organic products.
Organically-grown cotton is ideal for people who have extreme chemical sensitivities. Ours is 100% certified organically-grown cotton, without boric acid powder or mineral oil. Why choose organic? Organic farming does not employ synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, making organically-grown cotton a clean, pure, toxin-free, and natural product. Furthermore, organic farming results in sustainable, healthy soil management that reduces erosion and run-off. The only drawback to organic cotton is that, like all organic products, the labor-intensive process increases the price. But Natural Felt believes the cost is justified, and as consumers have become more educated about the benefits of organic, the demand for it has increased.
