Ordering a Futon Cover is fairly simple.  If you don't read anything else, at least read this.  About 75% of all Queen Covers ordered are returned for a full size cover.  We think that people are mislead when buying a futon, and told that they are buying a queen.

Please Measure your Mattress before ordering and you might save yourself time and money especially if you are sure you need a queen cover.

There are close to 2,000 fabrics on our site.  Look for the page numbers as many categories have more than 1 page.

All of the covers on our site are made to fit a 6" to 8" futon mattress.  If your mattress is thicker or thinner, you may need to custom order your cover.  Click here to order swatches for most of the covers on our site.

With free shipping and processing, samples take about a week to arrive, and covers take 1 to 2 weeks to arrive.  Custom orders can take 2 to 4 weeks to arrive.  You can get your sample or covers faster if you are willing to pay more.  E-mail us and tell us how soon you need the item, and we'll get you a quote.

We receive several calls from customers that order a futon cover "To Fit", a 9" Mattress, because they receive a cover that says, "7 Inch Depth".  Or, they might have ordered a cover "To Fit" a 5" mattress, when the cover arrives and says, "4 Inch Depth".

Futon covers are normally ordered with a depth of 2 inches less than the thickness of the futon mattress.  There are some exceptions to this rule and those are some Innerspring Futons, and some Super Soft, or Super Firm Futons.  Call us if you have any questions and we'll help you pick the size you need.  Most covers can be customized to fit any futon mattress, no matter how thick, or what the exact size is.

Top 11 Most Common Futon Cover Questions

There are a lot of ways to measure a futon mattress, but this is the most simple way to explain it.  Pretend that you are going to put your futon mattress, flat, in a box to ship it.  You don't want the mattress to flop around, and you don't want to squish it.  You want it to fit snug, with no slack.  Then just measure the length, width, and depth of the box, and that's it.

Piping or welting is a bead of the same, or a coordinating fabric that goes around the edges of the futon cover, and gives it a more finished or formal look.  It is not needed, and is expensive, but is does look very nice.

Our futon covers range from $39.00 in full sizes, to between $69.00 and $129.00 for most designer prints. Some premium prints are higher. Queen sizes are usually $10 to $20 more.

To return an item, you must first send E-mail to us at customerservice@futons.net to obtain a Return Authorization number and the instructions on where to return the cover to.  It may go back to the manufacturer, or to our warehouse.  You will also need to print this form, and include the form in the package you are returning.  If the RA# given is not Clearly Written on the Package, it will greatly delay the return.

There are no extra shipping charges added on futon covers delivered to the Lower 48 States. If you're not happy with your returnable Futon Cover, send us an E-Mail to request a Return Authorization Number, and we will reply back with the RA# and Address to send the item back to.  Please you may send it back unused, (at your expense), within 15 days for exchange or for a refund, less our original shipping charges, and any other charges that our manufacturers charge us, for restocking and drop shipping.  If any type of special shipping was requested, required, or used, (Overnight, 2nd Day Air, International, Etc.), those shipping charges will not be refunded.  Also, items returned must be in the original packaging, and must be in new and resalable condition. Items must not have been washed, have any fragrance, pet, or human hair, or be soiled in any way. If it is, we will not exchange it, and you will have to pay for shipping if you want us to ship it back to you.

Returns are not accepted on Custom orders, or if specified on the product at the time of the order.  There are several things that may make a futon cover non returnable.  See # 5 Below.

If you place an order, and we have already contacted the manufacturer to place the order, either by phone, fax, or E-mail, and you cancel your order, you will be charged a $5.00 cancellation fee to pay for our time in placing your order, and the time needed to cancel your order, and for credit card processing fees, which are not refunded to us when an order is refunded.  Please make sure that you want to place an order, before you actually place an order.

Please order samples before ordering any Custom, or Non Returnable Cover.

Non exchangeable items include Custom and other Sizes including Twin sizes, Love seats, Chairs, Ottomans, Kings, and Queens, and Covers made to fit other than a 6" to 8" futon mattress.  Pillows, Pillow covers, and Cut Yardage are Custom orders, and are not exchangeable. Also, any size item with piping or cording, custom backings, window treatments, reverse fabrics, cubes, skirts, and any other special items are non exchangeable.  Returnable items are Standard Full Size Covers from most manufacturers.  We have one manufacturer that does not accept any returns on covers at all.  These items are clearly noted with those non returnable terms on the product which you must agree to before ordering.

Please ask when ordering to make sure your cover is exchangeable. If there is a problem or a defect, on our part, or the manufacturers part, it will be corrected for no charge, but the order cannot be cancelled. If there is a problem due to inaccurate measurements or sizes given by the customer, the customer will be responsible for extra charges for shipping, and corrections. Please order a swatch before ordering any cover or custom item, since it is the best way to know if the colors you are seeing are accurate.

You can order fabric samples on most covers for between $1.00, for a tiny scrap, and $5.00 for a larger swatch. If there is not option to order a swatch, then you may Click Here to order Swatches.  Swatches are the only way to know exactly what the fabric looks, and feels like. We don't send swatches of our economy covers, because the dye lots are always different, and chances are the cover you order, will be slightly different than the swatch. If you call us with questions about a fabric, we will pull the swatch, and describe the colors, texture, feel, and cleaning care of the fabric to you.

Yes, our futon covers are guaranteed to be free of defects for between 1 year and Lifetime, depending on the manufacturer, and the fabric. This of course excludes misuse, abuse, and improper care or use, commercial use, and normal wear and tear. Covers will be repaired or replaced at the option of the manufacturer, however the customer is responsible for shipping charges on returns, unless the item was just received.

We spend a lot of time and effort to find the right type of light to take the pictures of the swatches you see. Much time has also been spent adjusting the colors prior to putting them on our site. Most all covers are made with the same fabric on all sides, which is called All Over.  There are a few covers that are made with one print on the top, and a different fabric on the sides and back.  If this is the case, it will be specified on the product information page.  Covers can be made in many different ways for different prices. When you click on a cover, it will tell you how that cover is made, and give you a link back to this page, where you can see how it's made above.

All of our covers come with a full 3 sided zipper. This makes it much easier to put on, or take off your cover for cleaning or changing. Twin Sizes, Chairs, or Ottomans come with a one or 2 sided zipper.  Covers can be ordered with Velcro, or in a Fitted Sheet Style.  Call us to ask about this option if this is what you want.

There is no extra charge for shipping covers via UPS, DHL, FedEx, or US mail, to the lower 48 states. There are exceptions. We won't ship Pillows, Bolsters, or Fabric Yardage for free, unless they are ordered with a cover. Most orders ship within 1 to 5 business days, and arrive in 1 to 2 weeks.  Custom sizes, or options, (like piping), take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive. Depending on your needs, it is possible depending on the cover and the manufacturer to get covers made quicker, and you can also add faster shipping options if needed.  We can ship most items to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands, Canada, P.O. Boxes, APO's or FPO's, but there are normally extra shipping charges, so send an E-mail first with your address so we can get you a shipping quote.  Some of our manufacturers will not ship by US Mail.  They require that we ship FedEx or UPS so that items can be tracked, which can be much more expensive.  Please note that for International shipments we will get a shipping quote, however the customer is responsible for any extra costs for taxes, Tariffs, or Duties.
